Araceli’s Fashion Picks: Bright Colors Magnetize at Laureles

I’ve got something daring and sexy for you this week, from an extraordinary store that has just about everything.  It’s a little off the beaten path and probably not something you’re used to, but if you’re looking for super-stylish, figure-hugging looks that are guaranteed to turn heads, look no further than Laureles Boutique in Five Points.  Check it out!  I promise you won’t come out of there with out an outfit, and you won’t break your budget, either.

Yellow t-top, embellished jeans (inset)

For a playful and sexy “girls’ night out” look, I suggest this yellow drop-waisted T-top and jeans. Its relaxed fit is perfect for lounging in the sun or out on the town. The rounded neckline flatters the neck. You can wear it with drop earrings, a pendant, or layered chains. If you decide to wear it without jeans, try it with tights and show off your nice legs.   Another alternative would be to pair this with a short skirt.  It’s really a versatile piece that will pretty much work with whatever you have. I paired the top and jeans with these these metallic gold gladiator-style sandals. The jeans I chose to pair with this top has matching gold embroidery on the pockets, it brings the focus from top to bottom, while looking unfussy.  Top$16.00 (available in tons of other colors too),   jeans $25.00.

Plaid cap-sleeve dress

Classy but sexy, black and white never fails. A high-waisted skirt adds the illusion of an empire waist, and the belt adds definition. Buttons up the front are elegantly vintage, and they allow for being as revealing as you want. A tad o’ plaid is more fun, especially with the little cap sleeves that add a touch of cuteness. I’ve contrasted the pattern’s straight lines with hoop earrings here, as a suggestion.  Keep your silhouette simple with black hose and black suede heels or even with some black patent flats for extra kick.  Dress$35.00 (also available in brown and red).

Electric blue high-waisted dress

This two-tone satin halter dress in electric blue/black skirt is glorious, and it’s the perfect pay-off for your long hours in the gym, toning your arms. Why not have some fun with your nails and match the blue?  With this top, your makeup can push the envelope, so be as flirtatious as you dare. Intensify your eyes with a few shades and blend them together for a multi-tonal effect. Work those shoulders and make them the center of attention.  Dress$30.00 (available in red and purple) .
